Donations
The Old Cottonians’ Association invites contributions to support student welfare, community initiatives, and philanthropic activities associated with the OCA network.
Donations to the OCA may be made by cheque or wire transfer, with the donor free to designate the use of funds. Payments can be sent to the OCA Secretariat. Cheques should be payable to “Old Cottonians’ Association” and include the donor’s contact details (name, phone, email) on the back of the instrument. The OCA deploys donations toward charitable and social programs, with details disclosed in the annual financial report presented at the OCA AGM and subsequently published in the association’s communications.
For all gifts, the OCA generally maintains donor anonymity. If a substantial donation is received and the donor wishes to be acknowledged, recognition can be arranged at the AGM.
The OCA has been recognized as a bona fide charitable entity under applicable tax regulations, enabling donors to receive eligible tax benefits where available. A portion of donations is allocated to charitable purposes, with a portion potentially reserved for administration and running costs to sustain operations. Donors may be eligible for tax relief or incentives depending on local tax law; for precise guidance, please contact the Secretary.
